Getaway to Phuket: Day 6 and thoughts

Day 6
The day to fly back to Singapore! I rushed through some last minute packing and we eventually left the hotel at 11. After making pitstops at random factory shops that sold snacks and having lunch 15 minutes away from the airport we reached the airport at around 2:!5pm.
I managed to get the thai tea I was craving for when we stopped by for lunch and I was happy because it finally cleared off my list of "things to do in phuket".

There was a flight delay of 2 hours as the flight coming in from Singapore was delayed and I found out later it was because Changi Airport was busy as Singapore was assisting for the search of the then missing plane. (Prayers go to the family of the victims of the plane).

I finally got back to singapore at around 10pm and almost cried again because of the cabin pressure
(I really need to find a way to conquer it if not I will cry each time I take a plane). I was once again feeling really battered from the plane ride and it felt foreign to be back at home. But I really missed being home and my bed felt the best as I fell asleep immediately after bathing.

Food
I think I had some form of seafood everyday. It was only on the second night and third day's afternoon did I get the chance to eat thai food. I fell in love with the green curry and Tom yum there.
It was not spicy at all!! Which made me think why is it so spicy in singapore?!

As mentioned above, I also drank almost every night and day. During lunch I would have a beer, at night I would have another. Even on the last night I drank by myself as my parents went out and it was really nice. The drink that I probably really enjoyed was the cocktail I had at hard rock cafe which name I forgot but it tasted amazing.

I also  managed to eat Banana Pancake and Thai Tea which I highly recommend you to try if you ever go to any part of Thailand. They are awesssommeee~~

Overall the trip to phuket has it ups and down and as mentioned in my earlier post, going once was enough for me. I explored what needed to be explored and I enjoyed its beach.

Next trip to look forward to (for me) is JAPAN!! Have yet to plan it but kinda excited to go to my other half's land!!

Getaway to Phuket: Day 3 to 5

Day 3
. As we went around a lot of place the day before, we started the day out late by going out at 12 int he afternoon. I spent my morning swimming at the pool (that I finally saw clearly because when we shifted the day before it was at night). The skies were really amazing from the pool and it was nice to swim as well as I don't get such a privilege in Singapore.

After a slow morning, we went to Jung Ceylon, one of the largest shopping mall in Phuket and I got a few things there and that was about it.

The villa was honestly amazing. I spent almost everyday swimming in that pool.
The picture below are taken from the lobby and though it isn't visible in the photo, the hotel was on a hill and it is very steep so going up the hotel and coming down was quite scary.

After that we went back to our hotel however my mom, dad, my two aunts and I went to walk about the shops downstairs out hotel as they went to search for a place to do some massage. As I didn't like massages, instead I sat there to get a mani pedi. Yes..embarrassing for a person like me to say but it was really nice.

At night, we went to eat thai food at a restaurant opposite our hotel and after dinner whilst my dad and grandma returned to the hotel, the rest of us decided to walk further down the road to see what it had to offer.
After walking for 30 minutes or so, we chanced upon a massage parlour (again yes) and I got my first foot massage. It felt weird yet so good. I felt really refreshed after getting massaged there and the woman helping me with the massage even cracked back a bone for me (I didnt feel any pain but it made a loud crack noise then the woman went 'omg! im so sorry!!'...it was so funny) and that was how my night for Day 3 ended.

Day 4
Shopping and walking was what I could use to describe Day 4. We went to the premium outlet (where I managed to buy my backpack for japan for a good price) , the batik store and Patong Beach.

Patong Beach was really nice though it was swarmed with people.
The only reason why I agreed to go to phuket was because of the beach and it was already the 3rd day and I havent been there yet. So I was kinda glad when we got a chance to pass by Patong Beach.  But We only passed by because we had to go to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. So we walked by with the sunset (which was beautiful really) and walked past small shops along the alley and also it was where I got my Banana Pancake. It was totes yumz!!!

Day 5
The day I really got a chance to relax was Day 4. The day before I had to fly off (pfft). I guess I'm really different from my family, because I'm the type to laze around and relax whilst they enjoyed shopping. Either way, I woke up early and headed down to the beach that was a 5 minute walk from my hotel and phew, it was pretty. Less people at Patong which was great and I was also able to get the chance to tan my arms.

I was really lazy the whole day. After hanging at the beach I went back to the hotel/villa for a swim which was sooooo refreshing and then just slacked on the bed...that was until my aunt and my mom said to go shopping at the Karon shopping plaza. I told myself that I shouldn't be lazy and I could slack with my grandma at night so i decided to go.

It was super warm that day. the sun blazing and my skin felt the burn from the sun. So what did I do? I bought a can of Chang beer and walked around with my aunt and mom. It was honestly the best feeling ever. Whilst I was at phuket, I drank almost everyday so drinking whilst walking at 2 in the afternoon seemed normal to me.

After walking around, we finally went back at around 4pm and had our last dinner at the villa.
It wasn't all that great but it had to suffice. As my parents, my uncle's family and my aunt's family went out for the last night, I stayed behind with my grandma to watch 'Alfie' and 'what happens in vegas' whilst packing for the next day. It was the kind of night that I liked.

Getaway to Phuket: Day 1 and 2

Flew above the skies for 1 hour 25 minutes to the land of Phuket!!

I recently made a trip to Phuket for a 5D4N trip from the 24th of December to the 29th.
It was quite a tiring yet interesting experience, but I think one trip was enough for me.
I felt honestly a bit weird at Phuket because everywhere I turned there was no asians at all!
When I went for dinner at a christmas eve party held by the hotel the day i reached, there was no asians at all. I was literally shocked at that. I wasn't sure why but I think I expected at least one or two other asian familes.

Anyways for this post, I will be talking about the first 2 days of being in Phuket, because if I tried to haul all my photos in one post it will take years to load.

DAY 1
I had to catch a 1pm flight so I had to be at the airport by 10am. However, because of having to clear last minute work, I only slept at 3am hence I was really out of my mind. The plan ride was horrendous for me because the cabin pressure got me really sick. So I was felt really crappy when I reached there.

However, the hotel room made everything better. The room was amazing and so was the bath room! It had a friggin bath tub and the toilet space was huge! The room was connected to my parents' so that was nice as well as I could get my stuff easily. The view from the window was blocked by trees but nonetheless I liked it.

By the time we freshened up it was time for the Christmas eve party (yes I did wear a dress because I was told it was causal..but people went causally as I expected..) which was where I got a shock -there was not a single asian family. It was just so overwhelming..like I didn't belong there. However, the night ended well as I got to see random fireworks!!

Day 2
Woke up to a good day and breakfast was amazing. The view of the mountains whilst having breakfast was splendid. Then began the tourist visits.

We went to see the Big Buddha, which was a really splendid place.  I didn't mind staying there for long as well. It was windy and I don't know, something about the place made me feel at peace.  The view from the Big Budhha was amazing too.Though it was cloudy so I couldn't get a nice picture of it (as seen above)

(The cat that slept on the book)

Had lunch beside the sea, which was pretty cool though it was cloudy. Seafood again but I really enjoyed eating the Tom Yum Soup there it was delicious!!! And of course, a beautiful coconut drink from the husk itself to top things off.

(Yes, thats what )

After lunch, we visited a cashew nut factory. Yes the picture above depicts a cashew nuts look like before they are taken apart from the plant. Interesting yeah?!
After that, we drove around to find fireworks to pop at the beach (which we later found out we left in the car of our driver so we couldn't get a chance to play with the fireworks :/)

I was honestly so tired by the end of the day but because shifted rooms (because there was a discount for the villas) I had to unpack everything again. (urgh) I couldn't tell what the villa was like because it was dark. We ended up having dinner in the villa and that was about it for Day 1 and 2~
